Portland Loves Small Business

Neighborhood businesses show their love for Portland all year long. They create and keep more local jobs for our neighbors and donate to local causes at more than twice the rate of national chains. Now it's your turn to show some love to neighborhood businesses.

With Valentines Day around the corner, it is the perfect time to show some love to neighborhood businesses while you shop for the perfect gifts for your special someone. Whether you are looking for flowers (Americans will spend $1.9 billion on flowers this year), sweet treats, heartfelt cards (180 million cards are expected to be exchanged) or a romantic night out, neighborhood businesses have everything you need to celebrate love. With the average American expected to spend $162 on Valentine’s Day this year, the holiday will contribute more than $20 billion to the national economy. Whatever your budget, shop and dine at neighborhood businesses – for every dollar you spend at a local business, $.70 stays in Portland’s local economy. Now that’s a lot of love!

If you want to show even more love for neighborhood businesses, update your Facebook cover photo with Venture Portland’s Portland Loves Small Business banner or tell us why your favorite local businesses make you feel warm and fuzzy on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with #pdxLOVESsmallbiz.
