Scary-Good Weather Brings Out Ghouls, Goblins and Great Deals in Neighborhood Business Districts

Starting Friday, October 25, Portland’s spook-tackular Halloween celebrations officially kick off in Central Eastside. More than a dozen family-friendly events are scheduled in neighborhood business districts city wide through October 31! Portland’s Halloween spirit is stronger than ever with a 60% increase in business district events that are expected to attract more than 10,000 costumed kids and adults. On Friday, find Fall-themed goodies from makers in the Central Eastside. On Saturday, get a tarot card reading in Montavilla and go for a Trick-or-Treat Walk in St. Johns. On Sunday, hear (not so) scary stories in Woodstock and march with monsters in Sellwood. On October 29, trick-or-treat with Paul Bunyan in Kenton. When October 31 finally comes, spot jack-o-lanterns and get tasty treats in Northwest, dress up your pooch on Mississippi Ave, chow down on candy in Williams District, show off your frighteningly-fantastic costume in Multnomah Village, get into the healthy Halloween spirit in Belmont and explore a haunted house in Beaumont (if you dare).

Halloween is more popular than ever with an estimated 172 million Americans planning to celebrate this year. That makes Halloween the second largest U.S. retail holiday after Christmas – with spending projected at $8.8 billion. Whatever you plan to spend, get in the Halloween spirit and Fall Into Local, Portland! You’ll find creepy costumes, devilish decorations, sweet treats and more at these family friendly events in neighborhood business districts:
