Community events produced by business associations and small businesses connect neighbors, foster cohesion, and encourage mindful support of our local economy. Did you know that Venture Portland has supported and funded the associations that produce many of these community events since 1986? We are passionate about a great party, especially an event that keeps our hard-earned dollars in the hands of local small businesses, who are the lifeblood of the city we call home. Here are some not-to-miss events happening in the next few weeks:

  • Beaumont: From 4-6pm on Halloween, Fremont Street will be bustling with Trick-or-Treaters! This year, participating businesses will be giving out fun-size AND full-size candy. A few lucky trick-or-treaters will also receive a gift card to a participating business of their choice!
  • Central Eastside: Milagro’s 30th Anniversary Dia de los Muertos Festival honors Latino culture with altars, performances, workshops, and bike rides. It also supports local businesses and artists while creating immersive experiences that celebrate Día de los Muertos and build community connections.
  • Division/Clinton: All month long, A Nightmare on Clinton Street brings you scary movies at the Clinton Street Theater paired with horror-inspired cocktails at Dot’s Cafe.
  • Foster: The Halloween edition of Meet Your Maker Market is happening on October 25th! This big, scary, outdoor market on Foster Road will feature 50 local makers. Get a hot drink from a nearby business and peruse the many booths!
  • Historic Parkrose: On October 31st, you are invited to stroll through the Parkrose Business District, collect treats from local businesses, and enjoy festive decorations and costumes galore during their annual Trick-or-Treat event. It’s a safe, family-friendly way to celebrate Halloween while supporting this amazing community.
