Start a New Holiday Tradition with Our Neighborhood Dining Guide

Everyone has their own holiday traditions and for many they revolve around food. If you aren’t able to sample Grandma’s cookies or share a decadent feast with family this year, there are plenty of neighborhood bakeries, markets, and restaurants that are stepping in and whipping up special delights to make your holidays merry and bright. Whether you are looking for sweet or savory, you have plenty of options through the end of the year. Here are a few ideas to warm your soul and get you in the spirit of the season.

  • Beaumont: Grand Central Bakery has traditional Italian sweet bread panettone, made with local ingredients.
  • Central Eastside: Let Taqueria Nueve do the cooking for you this Christmas Eve! They will be serving up authentic Mexican food until 9pm.
  • Foster: Ready for some delicious (and strong) tropical libations after family time on Christmas Day? Da Hui Bar and Grill has you covered!
  • Gateway: Mixing up some holiday cocktails at home? Gateway Liquor has all the ingredients to inspire holiday cheer.
  • Hawthorne: Enjoy some holiday beverages on Space Room’s 3000 square foot patio! They will be open regular hours on 12/24 and 12/25.
  • Lents: Stop by the Lions Eye Tavern for pop-up markets, local drafts, pool, pinball, and tons of holiday cheer now through the end of December. 
  • Montavilla: Sebastiano’s has plenty of holiday specials including Sfincione (Sicilian pizza, traditionally enjoyed at the holidays), Cassata al Forno (cake filled with sweetened ricotta, chocolate chips, and orange zest), and a great selection of biscotti and bubbles.
  • Midway: Citymaxx supermarket will be hosting their Christmas celebration on 12/18 and 12/19. Stop by for live music, Santa, wine and cheese tasting, giveaways, and specials on groceries throughout the store. 
  • Multnomah Village: Marco’s Café is cooking up special holiday baked ham dinners and quiche brunches for pick-up on 12/23 or 12/24.
  • Northwest District: Rotigo will be open Christmas Eve until 7pm. Pick up fresh rotisserie chickens, hearty winter salads, fresh sides, and last minute stocking stuffers for foodies.
  • Pearl District: On Christmas Eve, Brix Tavern will be serving up all of your favorite food and beverages until 9pm.
  • St. Johns: ‘Tis the season for holiday beverages! Warm up with a Peppermint Mocha from Two Stroke Coffee. If eggnog is more your style, try an Eggnog Latte from Daydreamer Coffee.
