Love is in the air, Portland! Neighborhood businesses show love for their communities all year long. They provide more local jobs for our neighbors and donate to local causes at more than twice the rate of national chains. Now it’s your turn. Portland was recently ranked one of the Top 10 Best Cities for Valentine’s Day so it is the perfect time to show some love to local businesses while you shop and dine with your special someone. Here are just a few specials being offered around the City.
- Alberta: Send a Valentine card to your special someone! Crafty Wonderland has a wide selection of cards from local artists.
- Beaumont: Jewelry is the classic way to show your love. The Arrangement is offering 20% off jewelry all month long. Artistic Portland Gallery will feature Valentines-inspired artwork from all of their members in their K. Friedstrom Annex through 2/28. Stop by to explore and find a unique gift for a loved one.
- Foster: Sure, flowers are great and all, but how about something that lasts a little longer? Both Larkspur and Glasshaus Gardens are chock full of rare and unique houseplants along with all of the supplies you’ll need to keep them healthy and vibrant for the long haul.
- Gateway: Food Fight Grocery is spreading lots of love with a beautifully decorated Valentine’s vegan isle, filled with heart-shaped edibles and even local chocolates from Chomp! Chocolate in Salem. Jet Black Coffee Company is serving ‘Conversation Heart’ sugar cookies from Shoofly Vegan Bakery for a limited time. Go in and get some animal-friendly deliciousness.
- Lents: Frame that perfect picture of you and your loved one. The pros at Portland Creative Framing can help get the job done. Or, for something sweet, Bella’s Italian Bakery has a bit of everything to satisfy your craving.
- Midway: VIP Florist is still taking orders for Valentine’s Day bouquets. They are a full-service florist who would be delighted to put together an arrangement that will make your sweetheart swoon.
- Mississippi Ave: For dinner, Stem Wine Bar will host special dinner pop-ups from Five-Oh-Five (southwest style) and Bluefin Tuna & Sushi, paired with champagne and specialty curated wine flights.
