Summer’s sun-filled days mean many great reasons to venture out and explore business districts across Portland. Whether you are looking to browse boutiques during a street fair, discover amazing local food and drink, enjoy live music, or connect with your community, there is plenty to do now through September. Here are just a few of the fun activities to put on your calendar:

  • Beaumont: The Fremont Fest Marketplace will take place on August 2 and will feature 180 vendors, beer gardens, live music, crafts, food, and fun!
  • Brooklyn: How often do you get to shop local and relax in a beautiful park at the same time? At the Best of Brooklyn BBQ, you can! Sample great food, music, and a small business fair at Brooklyn City Park on July 24.
  • Central Eastside: On July 11 and 12, the Portland Night Market will blend food, culture, music, drinks, and retail for an adventurous evening in the Industrial District. In addition, every Tuesday through August 26, have some riverside fun at Audrey McCall Beach. These events feature live DJs and post-swim discounts at local businesses.
  • Hawthorne: Hawthorne Boulevard is one of Portland’s favorite streets and home to the City’s longest-running street fair! The Hawthorne Street Fair pulls out all the stops for its 42nd anniversary on August 24 with multiple music stages, vendors, and sidewalk sales. You don’t have to wait until August, though! Check out the free concert series in the brand-new Venture Portland-funded Hawthorne Plaza on July 13.
  • Lloyd: Lloyd Live: At the Dock returns with golden hour music, river breeze, and cozy summer magic. Every Wednesday & Thursday, Duckworth Dock will be filled with music, connection, and that unmistakable Portland energy.
  • Mississippi Ave: On July 12, bustling North Mississippi Avenue will be car-free for a day of food, vendors, music, and fun during Portland’s largest street fair, Mississippi Street Fair.
  • Montavilla: On July 27, stroll down Stark Street and visit district businesses, vendors, a farmer’s market, and family-friendly entertainment and activities at the Montavilla Street Fair.
  • Multnomah Village: Multnomah Days is a one-day, open-air, family-friendly street festival on August 16 with musical acts, street entertainers, art, and 100+ vendor booths, plus food carts!
  • Parkrose: Summer Nights is on July 16, and will feature an evening night market, live music, community resources, food, drinks, and fun interactive activities for all.
  • Raleigh Hills: Check out the brand new Venture Portland-funded mural at Courtyard Village during the ribbon cutting ceremony on August 7th at 10am.
  • Soul District: During the MLK Dream Run on September 20 & 21, run/walk with your friends through the Soul District or race for a chance to win a round-trip travel voucher courtesy of Alaska Airlines. The race will start and finish at Portland Community College, with a Dave’s Killer Bread grilled cheese for all racers after crossing the finish line.
  • St. Johns: The Cathedral Park Jazz Festival will celebrate its 45th anniversary on July 18-20! This landmark jazz festival will feature some of the best local and national acts.
  • Stadium District: Enjoy free live music at the Portland Firefighter Memorial every first and third Thursday through September 11 during the ‘Sound the Watch’ concert series!
