Gather with Community During Spring Break

Spring break is in full swing and Portland’s annual explosion of flowers is here! This Spring Break and Easter weekend, feel good about supporting a local business and stimulating the local economy. This time of year often comes as a reprieve for small businesses who often experience a lull in sales before spring. Many businesses did not make it through this past winter due to the economy and the impact of events like the ice storm, so please check out these upcoming spring events and promotions!

  • Brooklyn: Gather with friends for Hip Chicks Do Wine’s annual event called Easter Candy and Wine Pairing. They offer 5 wines that pair with traditional Easter candies, as well as a special seasonal sangria pouring. Get your tickets here.
  • Central Eastside: For eight weeks this spring, OMSI’s 2024 Sci-Fi Film Festival will showcase over 40 of science fiction’s most memorable films on the Empirical Theater’s giant four-story screen. Opening night kicks off this Friday! On Saturday and Sunday check out the Spring Indigenous Marketplace.
  • Hawthorne: Celebrate spring and dig for treasures this weekend! Find Easter eggs, and win discounts and prizes at Midtowners Market.

  • Midway: Thrive East PDX is hosting an epic Fix It Fair this Saturday from 12-4! Learn how to mend clothes, fix bicycles, home weatherization techniques, and more!
  • Mississippi: The Portland Pickles Public House is open for business! On Thursday, March 28th from 12pm-11pm join the fun for opening day with raffles, pickle-ritas, and tattoos by Anatomy Tattoo! And then on Saturday, the Easter Egg Hunt on Mississippi Ave is open to the public from 12-3pm! Eggs will be filled with small discounts from participating businesses in this district.
  • Old Town: Who is ready for another full and fabulous Sunday Funday brunch at Darcelle XV Showplace? This week’s Easter Sunday Funday Brunch features an Easter Bonnet contest! The winner gets free tickets to a weekend drag show.
  • St. Johns: The Great Wonderwood Egg Hunt is happening on Sunday March 31st from Noon – 4pm! There are 500 eggs packed with goodies and ready to be found! Stop by Wonderwood Mini-Golf and Wonderwood Springs (and the area around their buildings) to find them.
